It's true that the more you travel, the lighter you pack. Back in the day, I used to pack everything I owned for something as simple as a weekend trip. If there was even a remote possibility I thought I might need something, into the bag it would go. Nowadays, with last minute work trips and lots of cross country travel, I've had to find ways to not feel completely weighed down by my luggage. Packing travel size beauty products is step 1 (and probably the most important part).
I was beyond excited when BioDerma introduced a travel size of their Créaline H2O because up until then I was squeezing it into travel size bottles that would almost always explode in my bag. If you are unfamiliar with BioDerma Créaline H2O, it's the number one thing I see my makeup artists carry in their kit. Regardless of their style or preferred brands, they all have it on hand. If you've ever been backstage at Fashion Week, you know what I'm talking about. It's the most gentle yet incredibly effective makeup remover, period. It will take off waterproof makeup and you don't need to rinse your face after using it. I wouldn't go anywhere without it.
In general, I don't use a ton of product. I have very sensitive skin and I'm apprehensive about trying anything new so this crew of beauty products are all old friends. Maestro by Giorgio Armani on it's own is a rather heavy foundation, but a dab mixed with moisturizer gives your face the perfect glow. Oribe Superfine is the best smelling flexible hairspray that I've found. They even recently came out with a perfume version because people were so obsessed with it. I also love that it doesn't have the crusty feeling that traditional hairspray has, your hair can move and be itself. Surf Spray by Bumble and Bumble is my go-to when I don't have time to blow dry or style my hair. Just a few sprays gives you a subtle beachy wave. Glossier admittedly reeled me in with their beautiful packaging but I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely their primer and concealer worked with my skin. Concealer is always a must for travel-weary eyes. Lastly, I bring Bumble and Bumble Pret-a-Powder almost everywhere I go. Any girl with bangs can attest to the frequent need to freshen up without having to shower / blow dry / the whole nine. This is the best dry shampoo I have found and doesn't leave that stiff clumpy feeling that most do. It also smells phenomenal.
